Newsletter Article and Support Letter You have two options for this assignment.
OPTION A Prepare an internal company newsletter article about one page in length dealing with a recent event in your company, for example a merger involving your company and a former competitor. In this case, your article should provide the rationale for this merger. You should also discuss the potential long-term benefits of this merger along with any possible challenges. The article should identify people within the organization who contributed to the successful completion of this merger as well as naming people who can provide vital information to readers during the transition period. Please include visual enhancements such as graphics and subheadings In addition, prepare a letter to be sent to individual employees that deals with concerns such as individual job security, long-term company prospects, and protection of existing wage and benefit packages–again on an individual level. In other words, the letter should deal with issues that cannot, or should not, be discussed in a semi-public newsletter. Again, provide the name of a contact person.
OPTION B Prepare a newsletter article announcing the implementation of a new travel expenses policy in your workplace. This article should discuss what the new policy is, why it was implemented and how staff will follow it. In addition, prepare a letter to be sent to employees directly affected by this new policy giving details about the transition. This letter should give them directions on how to prepare for the change (e.g., current expenses to be submitted), training schedules, and any other information that would ensure a smooth, widely accepted implementation
