For this assignment you are to review the standards (using current standards North Carolina Standard Course of Study (Links to an external site.))

Part 1:

Describe the course you plan to teach in 1 paragraph (3-5 sentences)
– (identify one subject area- eg Math, Science, Language arts/reading, art, ….)
If you are planning on teaching a special education course you will still need to focus on one subject area and identify one grade level- 1, 2, etc….

Take time to map out all of the topics covered in your selected course using a textbook, or resource book, or resources from CMC Education library in Education building

Check your list of topics with the NC standard course of study for your course and label according to how they fit standards

List all of the goals covered in the course based on the standards (simply list the goals for current NC Standard Course of Study for the Curriculum are that you will focus on for your ID tasks and project.

Explain which goal/topic you will use or focus on for the remaining of your EDN 301 course assignments

Part 2: Instructional Goals and Instructional Objectives

  • Write instructional goals using all of the goals you have listed above from the NC Standards Course of Study for the selected curriculum and grade level you will use for course projects.
  • Now, label all of the instructional goals using Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy (RBT)
  • Now, label all of the instructional goals using types of learning (Factual, Conceptual (also called declarative), Procedural (also called Psychomotor); Meta-Cognitive (also called affective)
  • Write instructional objectives for each of the instructional goals that you have written.
  • Now, label all of the instructional objectives using Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy (RBT)
  • Now, label all of the instructional objectives using types of learning (Factual, Conceptual (also called declarative), Procedural (also called Psychomotor); Meta-Cognitive (also called affective)
