cis3304 Lab Activity: Data
Learning Goal: I’m working on a operating systems exercise and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
In this chapter, you read about databases, data warehousing, and data mining.
Using either the database system in OpenOffice, or Microsoft Access, create a database to store information about student clubs at Valencia College in Florida. Think about what information would need to be stored and define the structure of the database accordingly. Add data for at least 6 clubs to the database.
This does not have to be very complicated, but your solution must demonstrate that you gave this exercise some thought.
Be sure to include information for each club (you can have more information):
- club name
- club email
- club phone number
- club website
- club location on campus
- club contact person
Be sure to draw on what you learned in your prerequisite Office class!
Those of you who want to show off your IT chops can create multiple tables with club members for each club and link the tables in relationships, as you learned in your prerequisite course. Students who do this kind of addition are the kinds of students I will be happy to recommend for jobs and scholarships.
